We can all get stuck in a style rut, but choosing just one outfit a week that’s completely outside your comfort zone is a great way to rethink what you already have. “It could be clashing different prints and colours, experiment­ing with hem lengths or tucking in tops,” suggests Abbey. “Set yourself a challenge and see how many brand-new looks you can put together without spending anything.”

If you’ve got a blazer, biker or denim jacket tucked away in your cupboard, use it as an edgier alternativ­e to cardigans and knitwear. “A bikerstyle jacket creates a great silhouette for most body shapes, as it gives definition round the waist,” explains Abbey. “It’s also an easy way to make baggy frocks more flattering, too.”

The blazer is another wardrobe hero, as Abbey continues: “A wellcut blazer is a timeless classic. I love wearing mine over really casual looks, such as denim shorts and a simple t-shirt. Or wear belted over a casual dress or skirt for a structured (and slimming!) look.”
