Colin Bower, Nottingham ✒ I treasure this photo taken of me with Dame Vera Lynn, 41 years ago in 1979 when I was Southgate Carnival Princess. I was 24 and she was 62. She always looked very youthful. Her songs will live on forever in people’s hearts – including mine.

I am an avid reader and couldn’t imagine how I’d manage when the libraries went into lockdown. Then I had a (rare!) lightbulb moment – to take out a subscription for Yours. The only problem is I have to ration myself as it’s so good I would read it all in one sitting. The articles are so interesting and when I get stuck on the puzzles I text my sister Claire for help!
