To fit UK sizes: 6 (8/10:12/14:16/18:20/22)

MATERIALS

Phil Nuage in Sable (1264) 6 (6:7:7:8) balls

1 pair of 5.5mm (US 9) knitting needles

STITCH

Garter st (knit every row).

TENSION

16 sts and 30 rows to 10cm measured over garter st using 5.5mm needles. Be sure to check your tension before starting to knit. If tension is too tight, change to larger needles; if it is too loose change to smaller needles.

ABBREVIATI­ONS Beg- beginning; cont- continue; rem- remaining; st(s)- stitch(es)

BACK

Using 5.5mm needles cast on 86(90:96:102:112) sts and work in garter st. When work measures 32cm from beg, mark selvedge sts on each edge to indicate armholes.

When work measures 52(53:54:55:56)cm from beg, loosely cast off all sts and mark 0(0:32:0:34) centre sts to indicate neck.

FRONT

Work as back.

When work measures 48(49:50:51:52)cm from beg, shape neck. Cast off 0(0:32:0:34) centre sts and cont on 1 side at a time.

When work measures 52(53:54:55:56)cm from beg, cast off rem 27(29:32:34:39) sts for shoulder.

Finish other side of neck in the same way.

SLEEVES

Using 5.5mm needle cast on 64(68:70:74:78) sts and work in garter st.

When work measures 5cm from beg, mark selvedge sts on each edge to indicate fold for turnback.

When work measures 22cm from beginning, loosely cast off all sts.

Work other sleeve in same way.

MAKE UP

Sew shoulder seams. Join sleeves to body between marked sts. Sew side seams. Sew seams for sleeves, reversing turnback.
