Firstly, I want to tell you that I’ve had my jab. It was so quick so easy and everyone was so efficient. I went into the waiting room and it was all very quiet and everyone was very respectful. Just before my turn, a man came out of the ‘jabbing room’ as I called it. He had his foot and ankle bandaged and was on crutches. As he passed me I said to him: “Did the jab hurt? Did it affect you?” He looked at me and hobbled over.

‘The jab didn’t hurt but look what it’s done to my foot,” I laughed so much the nurse actually beckoned me to shush, but we all enjoyed the moment.

One of my favourite places for a weekend away is Llandudno where my brother lived. The hotels and B&Bs are all still closed – I miss going away for a break so much, as I’m sure you do. Here’s a little story about a rather unique B&B that might cheer us all up… I was a young actress, had just left drama school, and was about to start my first theatre job in Harrogate. My mum booked me into a little family-run B&B, very safe and clean – or so she had heard! I arrived in the morning before I had to go to rehearsals at the theatre. I knocked on the door and a lovely lady opened it.

“Hello, you must be Miss Hewson, we are all ready for you,” she said.

Mrs Worsley showed me up to my bedroom, a single bed with a very pretty eiderdown, matching curtains and pillows and a hot water bottle. So all was well and I went off to work.

We finished rehearsing about 6pm and I was really looking forward to getting back to my new digs. As I had my own key I let myself in and went up to my room. Then there was a knock on the door and Mr Worsley greeted me.

“High tea will be served in five minutes,” he said. “You are late but we waited, here are the rules.” He went off downstairs and I was left with a piece of paper. I thought I’d nip down to see them before I did anything else as they’d waited for me.

I went downstairs to where I could hear noise and opened the door to the dining room. Mr and Mrs Worsley were standing waiting for me and two other guests of a similar age – all completely naked! The table was set for high tea, which on this particular day was fish and chips. They all shook my hand and pulled out a chair for me. I sat down, Mrs Worsley poured tea and Mr Worsley stood up to serve the fish. As I was completely speechless he took that as a no, and said: “Would you prefer a sausage?”

At which point I fled the room and within seconds had left the house. I was told by the theatre staff that they were a naturist B&B and were very popular. Well, it certainly opened my eyes!
