Dr. Richard H. Haude, Ph.D.
Dr. Richard H. Haude, Ph.D., 88 of Stark County, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born March 6, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was predeceased by his father Harry Haude, mother Charline Ogden and wife Ruth M. Haude (2016), as well as his brothers Stan (Carolyn) and David (Judith). He leaves behind his loving sons Daniel R. Haude and Steven M. Haude (Jennifer); daughter Karen R. Haude; sister Julie Flieger (David); grandchildren Jason, Brooke, Nathan and Kendall Haude and his girlfriend Rosemary Williams. He graduated from Kenyon College and earned his post-graduate degrees from The University of Pittsburgh (MA and Ph.D.). He was a professor at The University of Akron from 1967-2000 where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology and published his research in various peer reviewed psychology journals. He was also a nationally renowned rare coin and banknote numismatist, with one of the nation’s most diverse collections of rare eastern European banknotes. He was often called upon to write chapters in industry periodicals on that subject. He had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hiking in mountainous areas of North America and Europe and fishing in remote destinations throughout the world. Most importantly, his devotion to his family was unparalleled and such deviation will never be forgotten.
