Dr. Richard H. Haude, Ph.D., 88 of Stark County, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born March 6, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was predecease­d by his father Harry Haude, mother Charline Ogden and wife Ruth M. Haude (2016), as well as his brothers Stan (Carolyn) and David (Judith). He leaves behind his loving sons Daniel R. Haude and Steven M. Haude (Jennifer); daughter Karen R. Haude; sister Julie Flieger (David); grandchild­ren Jason, Brooke, Nathan and Kendall Haude and his girlfriend Rosemary Williams. He graduated from Kenyon College and earned his post-graduate degrees from The University of Pittsburgh (MA and Ph.D.). He was a professor at The University of Akron from 1967-2000 where he taught undergradu­ate and graduate courses in psychology and published his research in various peer reviewed psychology journals. He was also a nationally renowned rare coin and banknote numismatis­t, with one of the nation’s most diverse collection­s of rare eastern European banknotes. He was often called upon to write chapters in industry periodical­s on that subject. He had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hiking in mountainou­s areas of North America and Europe and fishing in remote destinatio­ns throughout the world. Most importantl­y, his devotion to his family was unparallel­ed and such deviation will never be forgotten.
