College Theater announces season

“33 Variations” and “We used to wear bonnets & get high all the time” will be offered this fall on stage at Skidmore College.

Performances for “33 Variations” will be held Oct. 12-14 and 16-20 in the Black Box Theater in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater.

In 1819, publisher Anton Diabelli commissioned 50 composers to write a variation on a waltz he had created. Beethoven rejected the invitation, dismissing Diabelli’s waltz as ordinary. He then changed his mind and created not one but 33 variations on Diabelli’s theme.
