TOURS

-

Legend has it that the ghost of a night watchman who died in the 1911 state Capitol fire still haunts the stately structure. It’s also been told that two U.S. presidents visited the Capitol building after they died. You can hear about these and other ghost stories on the Capital Hauntings tour. The free tours begin Monday and run through Nov. 22. The tours, which start at the Plaza Visitor Center & Gift Shop in the Empire State Plaza’s North Concourse, take visitors to the location of the Capitol’s “secret demon,” and the Assembly Chamber’s “lost” murals. 1 and 5:30 p.m. Monday-friday. Free. Empire State Plaza, Albany. 518-4742418.; online.ogs.ny.gov/ogsevents/ capitolhauntingstours
