Undefeated Union throttles Curry

Bellamy throws for 221 yards and three touchdowns in win

The Union College football team remains undefeated after a 49-6 win over Curry College on Saturday night in Schenectad­y.

The Dutchmen’s firstyear running back Ike Irabor, rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns, having a career day. Wide receiver Andre Ross Jr. continued his 100plus yards streak, catching seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown and Will Bellamy threw for 221 yards for three touchdowns.

Union opened the game going 52 yards into the end zone in six plays with Irabor scoring his first of the day with a 27-yard run.

Just six seconds to go in the second quarter, Bellamy hit Griffin Beal for a 23-yard touchdown pass to put the Dutchmen up 14-0.

Austin St. Pierre’s intercepti­on before the half set up Union for a touchdown, completed by Pat Ryan.

Colin Lama recovered a fumble in the third to put Union up 35-0 and Irabor rushed a game-high 57 yards into the end zone for his third touchdown of the game.

Curry got on the board later in the third when Nick Juvelier threw a 47yard pass to Mike Delgais. The Dutchmen blocked the extra point, holding them to six.

Bellamy found Ross in the fourth for Union’s final touchdown of the game.

The Dutchmen head into a bye week, but return to the field at Hobart on Oct. 6 at noon.
