Woerner appreciated for supporting health workers

-

I want to extend a word of thanks and appreciation to Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner for her support of our community’s health care workforce. I own and operate a small, private practice, Family Medicine of Malta.

As a primary care provider, we have received her unwavering support to ensure we have the resources we need to continue to care for our patients during this difficult time.

As this pandemic has raged on, she has worked tirelessly to make certain that the people of Saratoga County can continue to receive the care they need and deserve to help them stay safe and healthy.

She has accomplished this by ensuring access to alternative, innovative models of care such as telehealth visits, enabling patients, when appropriate, to be seen safely from the comfort of their homes.

Unfortunately, many New Yorkers live in remote areas of the state and don’t have access to the same care we are able to provide to our patients and, often, go without care.

Utilizing those same innovations used to provide more care during this current crisis, she and I have even begun the groundwork that will, hopefully, lead to legislation to ensure even better, more comprehensive and more timely care in the most rural areas of New York through telehealth and through better access to a family physician.

I hope she will be successful in her re-election so that she will be able to continue to protect our community and those who need the most help. Marc D. Price, D.O.
