Stranded in Fall River, Massachusetts, brothers Stanley (Hunnam) and Lion
(O’connell) are fighting to survive. Lion, a bare-knuckle boxer, and Stan, his manager and promoter, work the fight circuit to make ends meet. Squatting in an abandoned house at night and working in a sewing factory during the day, the pair work to gather enough money to get themselves to San Francisco for a $100,000-prize boxing match. But when Stan falls deep in debt with a local criminal named Pepper (Majors), the brothers are forced to make difficult decisions during their cross-country road trip.
