Pitt gets rout of Syracuse

Pittsburgh Justin Champagnie had a big game after missing a month with an injury, Ithiel Horton hit five 3-pointers and Pittsburgh pulled away from Syracuse for a 96-76 win on Saturday.

Champagnie, who injured a knee on Dec. 20, had 24 points and 16 rebounds. Xavier Johnson added 23 points, going 13for-13 from the foul line, with six rebounds and seven assists for Pitt (7-2, 3-1 ACC). Horton scored 20 points and Au’diese Toney 18.

Alan Griffin scored 28 points for the Orange (7-4, 1-3), 20 after the break, and Quincy Guerrier 18 with 12 rebounds. Marek Dolezaj scored 14 and Buddy Boeheim 12. Joseph Girard III, a Glens Falls graduate, was held to two points and two assists in 22 minutes.

Baylor 68, Texas Tech 60:

Davion Mitchell had 19 points as No. 2 Baylor overcame No. 15 Texas Tech to stay undefeated.

Texas 82, Kansas State 67:

Kamaka Hepa scored 15 points and No. 4 Texas rebounded from its first Big 12 loss of the season.

Butler 70, Creighton 66 (OT): Aaron Thompson scored 17 points and found Bryce Nze for the go-ahead layup with 1:08 left in overtime to complete Butler’s remarkable second-half comeback against No. 8 Creighton.

Miami 78, Louisville 72: Isaiah Wong had 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Miami beat No. 16 Louisville to end an 18-game skid against ranked opponents.

Minnesota 75, Michigan 57:

Liam Robbins had 22 points and eight rebounds for No. 23 Minnesota to hand No. 7 Michigan its first loss.

Tennessee 81, Vanderbilt 61: Keon Johnson scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half, leading No. 10 Tennessee over Vanderbilt.

Virginia 85, Clemson 50: Sam Hauser and Tomas Woldetensa­e had 14 points and four 3-pointers each as

No. 18 Virginia won its 11th straight over No. 12 Clemson to stay perfect in Atlantic Coast Conference.

Ohio State 87, Illinois 81: E.J. Liddell scored 26 points and No. 21

Ohio State beat No. 14 Illinois in a brutal Big Ten matchup.

Missouri 68, Texas A&M 52: Dru Smith scored 15 points and No. 17 Missouri shook off rust from an 11-day layoff due to COVID-19 protocols.

Iowa State 75, Baylor 71: Ashley Joens scored 14 of her 27 points in the fourth quarter and Iowa State beat

No. 6 Baylor, ending the Lady Bears’ 61-game home-court winning streak.

Nebraska 63, Ohio State 55: Kate Cain brushed up against a rare tripledoub­le and short-handed Nebraska bumped off No. 15 Ohio State, halting the Buckeyes seven-game win streak.

Depaul 78, Georgetown 54: Sonya Morris scored 18 of her 26 points in the first half and No. 19 Depaul won.

Gonzaga 76, San Francisco 52: Kayleigh Truong scored 17 points and No. 20 Gonzaga rolled to its 11th straight win over San Francisco.
