Bouknight lifts Uconn to win

Scores 24 points to help lead Huskies over Marquette

James Bouknight had 24 points as Uconn beat Marquette 80-62 on Saturday.

R.J. Cole added 21 points for the Huskies.

Albany Academy graduate Andre Jackson had eight points and eight rebounds for Uconn (12-6, 9-6 Big East Conference). Tyrese Martin added eight rebounds.

Dawson Garcia had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Eagles (11-13, 6-11). Justin Lewis added 14 points. Jamal Cain had seven rebounds.

Kansas 71, Baylor 58: Kansas finally put a blemish on secondrank­ed Baylor’s perfect season. David Mccormack bruised his way to 20 points, Marcus Garrett added 14 on his senior night, and the No. 17 Jayhawks beat the Bears to leave top-ranked Gonzaga as the nation’s only unbeaten team.

Michigan 73, Indiana 57: Franz Wagner matched his season high with 21 points and Isaiah Livers added 16 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 3 Michigan pull away for a victory at Indiana.

Illinois 74, Wisconsin 69: Kofi Cockburn scored 19 points and No. 5 Illinois held off Wisconsin to win and complete its first regular-season sweep in this series since 2005.

Alabama 64, Mississipp­i State 59:

Jaden Shacklefor­d scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half, and No. 6 Alabama beat Mississipp­i State to clinch its first Southeaste­rn Conference regular-season championsh­ip since 2002.

Oklahoma State 94, Oklahoma 90 (OT): Freshman star Cade

Cunningham scored 10 of his season-high 40 points in overtime and Oklahoma State defeated No. 7 Oklahoma.

West Virginia 65, Kansas State 43: Sean Mcneil scored 16 points and No. 10 West Virginia used two big second-half runs to beat K- State.

North Carolina 78, Florida State 70: Freshman Walker Kessler scored a season-high 20 points to help North Carolina upset No. 11 Florida State, earning a needed victory to boost its NCAA Tournament chances while giving coach Roy Williams his 900th career victory.

Xavier 77, Creighton 69: Paul Scruggs scored 23 points and Zach Freemantle added 17, helping Xavier bolster its NCAA Tournament hopes with a victory over No. 13 Creighton.

Virginia Tech 84, Wake Forest 46: Keve Aluma scored 23 points, Tyrece Radford had 15 and No. 16 Virginia Tech pounded Wake Forest.

Texas Tech 68, Texas 59: Mac Mcclung had 16 points to lead five Texas Tech players in double figures and the No. 18 Red Raiders snapped a three-game losing streak with a victory over No. 14 Texas.

Utah 71, USC 61: Alphonso Plummer scored 19 points, Timmy Allen added 15 points and eight assists and Utah pulled away late in the second half to beat No. 19 USC.

Arkansas 83, LSU 75: Justin Smith had 19 points and 10 rebounds, helping No. 20 Arkansas beat Cameron Thomas and LSU.

Loyola 65, Southern Illinois 58 (OT): Cameron Krutwig had 20 points and No. 21 Loyola scored the last eight points in overtime, rallying past Southern Illinois and clinching at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference title.

San Diego State 62, Boise State 58: Matt Mitchell hit two free throws with 3.3 seconds left and fellow senior Jordan Schakel made four free throws in the final 8.7 seconds for No. 22 San Diego State, which beat Boise State for its 10th straight victory.

Auburn 77, Tennessee 72: Allen Flanigan scored a season-high 23 points and had seven rebounds to lead Auburn to a victory over No. 25 Tennessee.

Georgia Tech 84, Syracuse 77: Moses Wright dunked his way to 31 points, tying his season high, and Georgia Tech strengthen­ed its NCAA Tournament chances by beating Syracuse for the Yellow Jackets’ fourth consecutiv­e win. Wright scored 19 points and had six of his seven dunks in the second half when the Yellow Jackets (13-8, 9-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) were able to pull away from the Orange (13-8, 7-7), who saw their NCAA chances dissipate further with their second straight loss. Alan Griffin had four 3-pointers and scored 26 points, Quincy Gerrier added 13 points and Glens Falls grad Joseph Girard III had 10 points.

Women

Uconn 97, Butler 68: Aaliyah Edwards had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Paige Bueckers added 20 points and 14 assists as No. 1 Connecticu­t routed Butler.

Baylor 85, Kansas State 49: Queen Egbo scored 19 points and No. 7 Baylor extended the nation’s longest current streak of consecutiv­e regular-season women’s conference titles to 11, clinching a tie for the Big 12 crown.

Houston 67, South Florida 49: Laila Blair led a balanced attack with 15 points and Houston swamped No. 13 South Florida, ending the Bulls’ school-record

13-game winning streak and extending the Cougars’ winning streak to seven.

Indiana 87, Ohio State 75:

Grace Berger scored 20 points, Nicole Cardano-hillary had a double-double and No. 11 Indiana ended a 15-game losing streak to No. 15 Ohio State.

West Virginia 72, Kansas 68: Kysre Gondrezick scored 25 points, including a 3-pointer with 16.7 seconds left, Esmery Martinez had a double-double with a career-high 24 rebounds and No. 18 West Virginia held on to defeat Kansas.

Gonzaga 77, Loyola Marymount 39:

Jenn Wirth scored 19 points, Jill Townsend added 18 and No. 21 Gonzaga captured the West Coast Conference championsh­ip.

South Dakota State 72, UMKC 66:

Paiton Burckhard scored a season-high 24 points, Tylee Irwin scored a critical basket with 20 seconds to go and No. 22 South Dakota State held on to defeat UMKC, wrapping up a perfect Summit League regular season for the first time.

Missouri State 64, Loyola 50:

Jasmine Franklin scored a careerhigh 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and No. 23 Missouri State beat Loyola Chicago to set a program record for its best start in Missouri Valley Conference play.

Depaul 75, Providence 49:

Lexi Held scored 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting and No. 24 Depaul regained its shooting touch to end a two-game losing streak.
