Saratoga County GOP announces its slate
Four Republican Saratoga County officials jointly announced their bid for re-election.
They are Sheriff Michael Zurlo, Clerk Craig Hayner, Surrogate Court Judge Richard Kupferman and Coroner Susan Hayesmasa, the County Republican Committee said Saturday.
Zurlo, 67, has worked at the sheriff ’s department for 31 years and is seeking his third term as
sheriff.
Hayner, 53, has been county clerk since 2014 and cited “embracing technology, focusing on customer service, and investing in staff development,” as accomplishments during his tenure.
Kupferman, 59, is seeking his second term as surrogate court judge, a position he has held for nine years.
Hayes-masa, 66, has been working for the coroner’s office since 1995 and has been serving as coroner since 2013.
Other recent Saratoga County endorsements:
The Ballston Republican Committee has endorsed incumbent Eric Connolly for supervisor, Rob Fendrick and Kelly Jasinski for town council for four-year terms and Michael Carota for a two-year-term replacing Peter Solberg who moved out of town. John Antoski and Kelly Stewart will not run for reelection. The Republicans also endorsed Michael Morrissey for town justice, Patti Mazza for tax collector and Joseph Whalen for highway superintendent.
The Malta Democratic Committee has endorsed Michael Williams for supervisor. For town board, the Democrats have endorsed incumbent Cynthia Young and Travis Fealy. All three have the Working Family Parties endorsement, too.
The city of Troy, town of East Greenbush and town of Bethlehem will partner on the first intermunicipal Household Hazardous Waste disposal program for 2021.
Scheduled April, June, August and October, the events will provide residents of the three municipalities the opportunity to safely dispose of hazardous materials not accepted via normal garbage
collection service.
