Niskayuna school board to meet

The Niskayuna Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, in the Rosendale Elementary School Library Media Center with livestream for the public.

Becker Elementary garden forming

Slow Food NY State launched its Upstate School Gardens Initiative in partnership with Ravena-coeymans-selkirk’s A.W. Becker Elementary School with a $1,500 grant to help fund development of a garden at the school.

The district will use the

donation in the coming months to create a special area on the school campus to highlight nutritional programs and connect that effort with today’s classroom. Follow the

Claverack Library presents gardening talk

CLAVERACK — Join garden designer Peter Bevacquaat 4 p.m. Saturday,

April 10, for a discussion of the low maintenance and seasonally changing plantings around the Claverack Library’s 9H façade. He will also show a nearby garden designed using this planting style, and explain how viewers can bring some of his ideas into their own garden.
