— Anthony J. Ciarlone Jr., 81 of Troy, entered into eternal life on Friday, June 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Pettignell­i

Ciarlone Sr. and the beloved husband of the late Joan Hughes Ciarlone.

Mr. Ciarlone served our country with pride in the

U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Upon returning home he accepted a position with N.Y.S. Tax and Finance Dept. and in 1995, after 31 years of service, he retired.

Anthony was an avid bowler, he achieved his goal with a perfect game of 300; he enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking with his grandchild­ren especially making his famous homemade raviolis, but most of all he enjoyed the quality time he spent with his family.

Survivors include his children, Nicolette (Brian) Avery, Kevin Ciarlone, Deborah (Robert) Demarest; grandchild­ren, Morgan, Courtney and Hannah Avery, Michaela Ciarlone and Jacob Demarest; brothers, Frank (late Jean) Ciarlone and Ralph Ciarlone. He was predecease­d by his sisters, Madelyn (Tom) Sheeran and Ginger Riley. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Bill Riley; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Gene) Snay; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral procession will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 3rd St., Troy to St. Joseph’s Church, Troy where at 9:30 a.m. a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Anthony’s family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff from the Community Hospice and especially Marsha for all the kindness and care provided.
