ROTTERDAM — Mary L. Schissler, 91 of Rotterdam, was called to eternal life by the hands of Jesus on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Albany in 1930 to the late Anthony and Rose (Bellenvina) Pirri, Mary worked tirelessly her entire life. For 25 years she was a valued employee of Walgreen’s and later, with many "second" jobs in between, retired from the Albany Police Department where she was a beloved crossing guard for over 25 years. Mary married her late husband Charles P. Schissler III in 1956 and was a longtime resident of Albany until his death in 2003, when she then moved to her current home in Rotterdam to live with her beloved daughter, Marie and son-in-law Richard. Mary was a loving wife, mother "Ma," mother-in-law, grandmother "Gram," and great-grandmother "Grammy," who devoted her entire life to her "still growing" family. Mary loved her family with all her heart and was a devoted servant to the Lord our God. She woke up every day giving thanks to him and asking to keep them all safe and guide them on their journeys through life. She loved to read, crochet, do puzzles, shop, cook and bake.

Mary is survived by her five children, Charles P. Schissler IV (Darlene), Deborah Oliveri (Frank), Marie Castiglia (Richard), Daniel Schissler (Carolyn), and David Schissler (Cindy); 11 grandchildren, Charles P. Schissler V. (Jennifer), Richard Castiglia Jr. (Sara), Anna Greene (Casey), Courtney Usher (Stephen), Shane Schissler (Melinda), Nicholas Castiglia (Ashley), Gena Deflorio (Nicholas),

Gena Deflorio (Nicholas), Daniel Schissler Jr., Krissty Schissler, Ashley Forsythe (David), and Amanda Rorabaugh Mcintire; and eight great-grandchildren, Elijah, Payton, Finnigan, Jacob, Luca, Lillian, Gianna, and Charlie. Mary was predeceased by her brother Frank Pirri. She leaves behind her brothers, Peter Pirri, Salvatore Pirri, and
