Sunrise adds coworking space to its portfolio
Multifamily investment consultant Sunrise Management & Consulting has opened a coworking space at its new development, Sunrise Solars.
The space is in the second floor of a new commercial building, also headquarters for the company and a spin-off, New Abode LLC, a real estate brokerage.
There are also two apartment buildings on the 4.5-acre property, one with nine units and one with 12. Top Tile leases existing retail space on the lot.
In addition to private workspaces, windows that open and a high-efficiency air filtration system, Sunrise Solars Coworking offers technology-ready conference rooms, ultra-fast, secure internet, free coffee, free printing credits, a kitchen and break room, free off-street parking, access to a fitness room and a walking trail.
“There were vast changes to the office market due to COVID,” said Jesse Holland, founder and president of Sunrise. “Many office workers went remote, corporate footprints shrunk, and some companies went to a combined remote/ in-person model. Awareness was at an all-time high of HVAC systems, MERV filtration, and the benefits of fresh air. We saw a departure of office workers from cities, and they were looking for a new workplace option. When evaluating our commercial building and thinking about the best use of the second floor, we realized that it was ideally positioned to be a coworking space that would meet today’s needs."
The Sunrise Solars development is off 836 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham. A ribbon-cutting event is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday.
