Dimura, Venera "Nettie"

ALBANY — Venera "Nettie" Dimura, age 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 7, 2021.

She was born in Linguaglossa, Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Carmela Rapisarda. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony J. Dimura Sr.

All of those that were lucky enough to know Nettie, knew that she loved her family, was an incredible cook (especially for her cookies and cannolis), enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends. She loved her garden and was always there to lend an ear and to provide support and advice to anyone who needed it.

She had an amazing capacity to care for others and always put others needs before her own.

She is survived by her children: Joseph Salvatore Dimura (Stacy), Rita M. Dimura-smarro (David), and Anthony Joseph Dimura Jr. (Maria); grandchildren: Sydney, Gabrielle, Isabella, Anthony and Livio; and sisters: Mary Mirabile and Josephine Rapisarda. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the amazing nurses at the AMCH CCU, especially Gina Martinelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 13, at 9 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
