Vaccine clinics announced in Albany County and beyond
Free rides to clinic available to those 60 and older
Five more people tested positive for COVID Albany County announced Saturday as it also promoted vaccine availability at eight regional vaccine clinics in an effort to stop the spread of the virus. Clinics are being held this week in Albany, Wynantskill and Melrose.
As of Saturday, 76 percent of the adults in Albany County had received at least one vaccine dose. Anyone age 12 or older is eligible for the vaccine.

July 15: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Center for Disability Services, 314 South Manning Blvd., Albany
July 15: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Schaghticoke Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Melrose
July 16: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Playstreets 2021, Hoffman Park, 27 Hoffman Ave., Albany
July 21: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Swinburne Park, 810 Clinton Ave., Albany
In addition, Albany County is delivering vaccines to the homes of people who cannot easily leave their house, including disabled residents and people who do not have childcare or transportation to get to a clinic. To schedule a vaccine visit, call (518) 447-7198.
Children ages 12 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their vaccine.
Free transportation to a clinic is available for anyone age 60 or older, and their caregiver, by calling the County Department for Aging in advance at 518447-7198.
Of the new COVID cases, all five people tested positive after having close contact with a person who developed COVID. There were 16 people sick, an increase of three from the previous day, and 28 people were quarantined, and increase of five. Two people recovered from COVID, for a total of 24,422 recoveries.
Two county residents are still hospitalized. No one is in an intensive care unit.
