Albany Co. reports 12 new COVID cases; five are hospitalized
61.6% of residents now fully vaccinated; shots readily available
Twelve new coronavirus cases were recorded Friday in Albany County, County Executive Dan Mccoy said Saturday.
In other key numbers: Just about two-thirds of the county’s population has received at least the first dose, and 61.6 percent has been fully vaccinated.
Among the new cases of COVID-19, six had close contact to positive cases and six did not have a clear source of infection. There are now 81 active cases. The number of people under mandatory quarantine is now up to 124 from 110.
There were no new hospitalizations overnight.
Five county residents are now hospitalized. There are no patients in ICU’S.
There were no new COVID deaths to report, and the death toll for Albany County still stands at 388 since the outbreak began.
Rent information sessions slated
The county’s Department of Social Services plans informational sessions to educate residents, check their eligibility and help them sign up for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
The federally funded program is for those who have experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic.
