MECHANICVI­LLE — Shirley Fox Bagnoli, 85, died Thursday, July 22,

2021, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, Troy, after an extended illness.

Born in Mechanicvi­lle, January 18, 1936, daughter of the late Richard and Mary Fox, Shirley attended St. Paul’s Parochial School and was a 1953 graduate of Mechanicvi­lle High School. For many years Shirley worked as a senior administra­tor with the General Electric Co. in Schenectad­y, retiring in 1996.

Shirley enjoyed shopping, always ready to buy something for her many nieces and nephews, working in her gardens, was a member of the Red Hats Society, and her Home Owners Associatio­n of Grooms Point.

Although never having children of her own, Shirley looked after, mentored, and was always ready to help out her many nieces and nephews, and loved their company. She also loved her pet dachshund dogs, namely Heidi and Gretchen.

Shirley was predecease­d by her husband of 40 years, Joseph Bagnoli in 1994; and her many siblings: Yvonne, Agnes, Charles, Richard, Thomas, Robert, Jerry, James, Laverne and Virginia.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Dione Fox of Mechanicvi­lle; and brother-in-law, Thomas Bagnoli of California; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, at 12:30 p.m. at All Saint on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St, Mechanicvi­lle; with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours at Devito-salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicvi­lle on Tuesday morning from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, remembranc­es may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of NENY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, 12205, in respectful memory of

Shirley Fox Bagnoli.
