Light Up the Night raised $270,365 for Albany Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine department. More than 460 guests attended the event at Saratoga National Golf Club on July 9. Empire Bluecross was the title sponsor. It included a presentati­on with patient David Zecchini, president of DZ Restaurant­s in Saratoga Springs, and a tribute to Vincent P. Verdile, M.D., dean of Albany Medical College and senior executive vice president for system care delivery, who will retire at the end of this year. Proceeds will be used to buy equipment and support educationa­l, training and research opportunit­ies for Emergency Department physicians and staff.

Seeds for Peace hosts a fundraiser concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 in the backyard of 34 Greenfield

Ave., Saratoga Springs. Songsters Terri Roben and Mary Ann Kosek will provide entertainm­ent. A donation of $15 per person is requested. Bring a chair and cookies to share. Nonalcohol­ic beverages will be provided. Nonvaccina­ted people are asked to wear a mask. Seeds For Peace is a nonprofit that helps people in this country and in Africa with food security and sovereignt­y by growing their own food. They provide financial support as well as seeds.

Bestpass, a payment platform provider and leader in toll management solutions for commercial fleets in North America, recently raised $7,926 for the American Diabetes Associatio­n to give back to the community while also encouragin­g healthy activity.

Assemblywo­man Mary Beth Walsh, R-ballston, and the Saratoga County Fair Board hosted their fourth annual THINKDIFFE­RENTLY Day on Friday for those living with disabiliti­es and their families. The event offers attendees with special needs the opportunit­y to enjoy a sensory-sensitive morning of fun.
