Light Up the Night raised $270,365 for Albany Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine department. More than 460 guests attended the event at Saratoga National Golf Club on July 9. Empire Bluecross was the title sponsor. It included a presentation with patient David Zecchini, president of DZ Restaurants in Saratoga Springs, and a tribute to Vincent P. Verdile, M.D., dean of Albany Medical College and senior executive vice president for system care delivery, who will retire at the end of this year. Proceeds will be used to buy equipment and support educational, training and research opportunities for Emergency Department physicians and staff.
Seeds for Peace hosts a fundraiser concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 in the backyard of 34 Greenfield
Ave., Saratoga Springs. Songsters Terri Roben and Mary Ann Kosek will provide entertainment. A donation of $15 per person is requested. Bring a chair and cookies to share. Nonalcoholic beverages will be provided. Nonvaccinated people are asked to wear a mask. Seeds For Peace is a nonprofit that helps people in this country and in Africa with food security and sovereignty by growing their own food. They provide financial support as well as seeds.
