Toronto rallies to tie NYC

Richie Laryea and Alejandro Pozuelo scored in the second half to help Toronto FC tie New York City FC 2-2 on Saturday night.

Santiago Rodriguez and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi scored for New York City (8-5-4) in the first half. Toronto interim coach Javier Perez replaced captain Michael Bradley and star striker Jozy Altidore with Ralph Priso and Ifunanyach­i Achara to open the second half. The 34-yearold Bradley had played every minute of the previous 17 games.

The moves gave Toronto (3-9-6) an immediate boost, with Laryea scoring in the 49th minute and Achara setting up Pozuelo in the 55th. Priso, who turned 19 last week, played a key part in both goals.

Atlanta 3, Columbus 2: Ezequiel Barco scored a pair of goals and Atlanta United defeated the Columbus Crew. Barco gave United (3-6-9) a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute, assisted by George Bello. Jonathan Mensah put the Crew (6-6-6) on the scoreboard in the 37th minute, assisted by Lucas Zelarayan. Marcelino Moreno gave United a 3-1 lead on a penalty shot in the 65th minute.

Cincinnati 1, Orlando City 1:

Nani’s goal helped Orlando City play Cincinnati to a tie. Brenner notched the first goal for Cincinnati (3-7-7) in the 42nd minute, assisted by Alvaro Barreal. Nani put Orlando (8-4-6) on the scoreboard in the 56th minute.

Minnesota 2, Houston 0:

Brent Kallman scored to help Minnesota United shut out the Houston Dynamo. Robin Lod gave United (7-5-5) a 1-0 advantage in the 14th minute. Kallman put United ahead 2-0 in the 71st minute, assisted by

Emanuel Reynoso.

Dallas 2, Austin 0: Jesus Ferreira’s goal helped Dallas claim a win over Austin. Ryan Hollingshe­ad scored first for Dallas (5-7-6) in the 50th minute, assisted by Szabolcs Schon. Ferreira finished the scoring for Dallas in the shutout in the 63rd minute, assisted by Schon. Austin (4-9-4) outshot Dallas 10-8, with four shots on goal to five for Dallas.

Colorado 1, Kansas City 1: Tim Melia had three saves in Sporting Kansas City’s scoreless draw with the Colorado Rapids. The Rapids (8-4-4) outshot Sporting KC (10-4-4) 8-4, with three shots on goal to zero for Sporting KC.
