Red Bulls draw with D.C. United

Yearwood’s long-range strike canceled out by Kamara PK before half

Ola Kamara scored on a penalty kick for his 13th goal of the season and D.C. United tied the New York Red Bulls 1-1 on Saturday.

D.C. United (9-10-4) snapped a two-match road losing streak. New York (6-10-5) has lost five of its last eight games — with two draws.

Kamara’s goal in the 44th minute moved him within one of Seattle’s Raul Ruidiaz in the race for Golden Boot.

Dru Yearwood scored in the fifth minute with a shot from distance. Patryk Klimala stole it deep in United territory and found Yearwood open at the top of the box for his fifth assist of the season.

New England 2, NYC 1: Emmanuel Boateng and Tajon Buchanan each scored and the New England Revolution beat 10-man New York City FC. New England (17-4-4) set a MLS singleseas­on record with its 14th victory by a one-goal margin. New York City (108-4), which has won seven straight at home, had its road winless stretch extended to seven games.

Seattle 1, Minnesota 0: Joao Paulo scored his second goal of the season and the Seattle Sounders beat Minnesota United to extend their lead atop the Western Conference. Seattle (13-4-6) snapped a four-game winless stretch at home. It was the first time in the club’s history to earn just one point in any four-match home run. Minnesota (8-7-7) had its four-game undefeated run on the road end.

Colorado 1, LA 1: Samuel Grandsir scored in the 80th minute and the LA Galaxy tied the Colorado Rapids. Los Angeles (11-8-4) had its winless run extended to four games. The Galaxy didn’t go consecutiv­e matches without a win in its first 12 games this season. Colorado (12-4-6) is unbeaten in seven straight games against Los Angeles, dating to the start of the 2018 season.

Miami 1, Columbus 0: Gonzalo Higuain scored in the 16th minute and Inter Miami beat the Columbus Crew. Miami (8-9-5) has won six of its last nine matches, including all five of its home games during the run. Columbus (7-11-6) has lost eight of its last nine games, including five straight defeats on the road. Columbus has managed just two wins in its last 24 away matches dating to 2019.

Cincinnati 2, Toronto 0: Brenner and Haris Medunjanin each scored, and Cincinnati beat Toronto FC for its first victory at TQL Stadium. Cincinnati (8-10-6) snapped a 12-game winless streak, including three straight losses. Toronto (3-14-6) has lost five straight matches and is winless in eight in a row.

Nashville 1, Montreal 0: Walker Zimmerman scored in the 66th minute in Nashville’s 1-0 victory over Montreal.

NWSL: The Washington Spirit of the National Women’s Soccer League were forced to forfeit their scheduled Saturday match against OL Reign because the Spirit violated the league’s medical protocols, the league said. Under FIFA guidelines, the game will be recorded as a 3-0 victory for OL Reign, which will receive three points in the league standings. The Spirit had a COVID-19 outbreak last week, with four players testing positive, forcing the team’s game against the Portland Thorns to be postponed.
