COHOES — Joan Ann Houser, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Joan Le Clair. Joan was the devoted wife to Joseph W. Houser, Sr.; they have been married 33 years.

Joan retired from the New York State D.M.V. after 34 years as a field office trainer specialist. She was in a Christian Music Ministry for the My Fathers House Ministries. Joan was also a volunteer lunch lady at Our Saviors Christian School. Joan was a proud member of My Fathers House Ministries.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She cherished her Friday night date nights she went on with her loving husband.

In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her children, Candace M. (Sean) Brennan and Tracey (Mark) Cherney; stepchildr­en, Frank (Tammy) Houser Sr., Joseph W. (Tonya) Houser Jr., Susan (Timothy) Trimm, Barbara Bouchey, and Stephen (Susan) Bouchey; grandchild­ren, Sean F. Brennan Jr., Chloe Cherney, Mark Cherney Jr., Kelsea (Erik) Mueller, Frank (Ashley) Houser Jr., and Abby Houser; siblings, Judy (Tony) Dashnaw, Jean Le Clair, Joseph (Sherry) Le Clair Jr., and John (Carol) Le Clair; as well as several great-grandchild­ren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was predecease­d by her beloved son, Christophe­r J. La Clair.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenec

Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectad­y Rd., Watervliet on Thursday, April 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. with a funeral service to immediatel­y follow at 6 p.m.
