Cisneros leads Atlanta over Fire

Player has three goals to lead team past the Fire, 4-1

Ronaldo Cisneros’ three goals proved to be pivotal as Atlanta United picked up a 4-1 win over the Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Cisneros put United (4-4-2) ahead for good at 2-1 in the 27th minute. He also scored in the 2nd and 36th minutes.

United also got one goal from Brooks Lennon.

The Fire’s (2-4-4) goal was scored by Chinonso Offor.

Atlanta defender Miles Robinson was stretchere­d off the field after collapsing to the artificial turf with a non-contact injury to his left leg and was removed in the 16th minute. A serious injury could cost the 25-year old a roster spot for the World Cup after Robinson started 10 of 14 qualifiers for the U.S. men’s national team.

United outshot the Fire 12-7, with seven shots on goal to three for the Fire.

Bobby Shuttlewor­th saved two of the three shots he faced for United. Gabriel Slonina saved three of the seven shots he faced for the Fire.

United plays at home next Sunday against the New England Revolution, while the Fire will host Cincinnati on Saturday.

Kansas City 0, NYCFC 0:

Sean Johnson made three saves for New York City FC and Tim Melia had two saves for Sporting Kansas City in a draw. NYCFC (4-3-2) outshot Sporting KC (2-6-3) 11-6, with two shots on goal to three for Sporting KC. Both teams next play Saturday. NYCFC hosts the Columbus Crew and Sporting KC visits the Portland Timbers. New York 1, Portland 1: Aaron Long scored the equalizer for the New York Red Bulls in a draw with the Timbers. Long scored the equalizer for the Red Bulls (5-2-3) in the 67th minute, assisted by Dylan Nealis. Jaroslaw Niezgoda scored the lone goal for the Timbers (2-3-6).

Columbus 2, New England 2:

Erik Hurtado scored the equalizer for the Columbus Crew in a draw with the Revolution. Hurtado’s tying goal came in the 89th minute for the Crew (3-3-4). Derrick Etienne had an assist on the goal. DeJuan Jones and Adam Buksa scored one goal each for the Revolution (3-5-2).

Montreal 4, Orlando City 1:

Joe Waterman, Djordje Mihailovic, Joquin Torres and Zachary Brault-Guillard scored and Montreal beat Orlando City to run its club-record unbeaten streak to seven games. Montreal improved to 5-3-2. Joao Moutinho scored for Orlando City (5-4-2).

Charlotte FC 1, Miami 0:

Andre Shinyashik­i scored in his Charlotte debut in the expansion team’s victory over Inter Miami. Four days after coming over from Colorado in a trade, Shinyashik­i scored off Yordy Reyna’s cross in the 68th minute. Kristijan Kahlina made six

saves for Charlotte (4-6-1). Inter Miami dropped to (3-6-1).

Cincinnati 1, Minnesota 0:

Brandon Vazquez’s goal and Roman Celentano’s five saves led Cincinnati to a victory over Minnesota United. Vazquez’s game-winner came in the third

minute of stoppage time to seal the win for Cincinnati (5-5-1). Calvin Harris got an assist on the goal. United (4-4-2) outshot Cincinnati 14-13, with five shots on goal to six for Cincinnati. Dallas 2, Seattle 0: Jesus Ferreira’s goal proved to be

pivotal as Dallas picked up a win over Seattle. Ferreira put Dallas (5-1-4) ahead for good at 1-0 in the 65th minute.

D.C. United 2, Houston 0:

Taxiarchis Fountas scored twice in the first half to lead D.C. United.
