GRAFTON — Mary F. Farrell, 87 of Grafton, the beloved wife of the late Charles D. "Chuck" Farrell, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Augustino and Louisa Sylvester Gonino. Mrs. Farrell worked in the Payroll Department for Cluett, Peabody & Company in Troy.

Mary was a communican­t of Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Grafton (formerly St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church). She was a member of the Grafton Historical Society and the Grafton Senior Center, which she enjoyed.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Charles "Chuck" Farrell; devoted mother of Karen (John) Bryant, Suzanne (Gary) Kuczek and Charles "Butch" (Margie) Farrell, all of Grafton; sister of Sylvia (Joseph) Rooney of Eagle Mills, Anita (Roy) Morton of Frederick, Md., Joanne Wilder of Rochester and the late Vincent Gonino who is survived by his wife Jean of North Carolina; cherished grandmothe­r of Leah (Michael) Mamone, Tarah and Benjamin (Sarah) Johnston, Dana Farrell, Casey (Nick) Snyder and Charles Farrell Jr.; and adored greatgrand­mother of Luke and Beck Snyder, Noah Johnston and Donovan Mamone. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, June 1, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snow Church (formerly St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church), 31 Owens Road., Grafton, and to her Mass of Christian Burial which will follow beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date in the Grafton Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208, in memory of Mary F. Farrell.

Please express your condolence­s by visiting sanvidgefu­neralhome.com. Central High School in 1967, Joan cherished being a wife and mother, staying home to raise her five children. Later, she would go on to work as a teacher’s aide for special needs children at BOCES and George Washington School.

During the years her parents resided at the Eddy in Troy, Joan was devoted to their care, quickly becoming a friend to all and often extending her daily visits to share a smile and kind word to many of the other residents there.

Joan treasured spending time with her children and grandchild­ren. She especially enjoyed gathering with her family at their camp at Sacandaga Lake and her vacations to Hilton Head.

She was a longtime communican­t of Sacred Heart Church in Troy where she founded and then led the parish’s prayer group for more than 40 years.

Joan’s incredibly strong faith and gentle spirit were both inspiratio­n and light to all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, counsel, and generosity were limitless and touched the lives of so many. In times both good and bad, Joan led her life faithfully embracing a spirit of deep trust and gratitude, an example by which she will forever be remembered.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Community Hospice and in a special way to Tara Mooradian for their compassion­ate care for Joan.

Relatives and friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church, 475 Pawling Ave., Troy on Wednesday, June 1, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend John Yanas, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Troy.
