Harbour, Florence

-

MENANDS — Florence Harbour folded her hand at the poker table of life and was escorted out of the building guided by the holy spirit, and was delivered to the love of her life Harry E. Harbour in heaven, in the wee hours of the early morning, Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born to the late Joseph and Agnes Morrissey Mijal.

She was raised in Troy and was a survivor of St. Joseph’s Asylum for Girls and St. Vincent’s Home. She also attended Catholic Central High School. She met her soul mate the late Harry E. Harbour at the Big Montgomery Ward Store while operating the elevator. Harry took her out for an ice cream and that was that. Florence bore six wonderful children and raised them in Menands, Linda (Jock) Ford M.D., Lorretta (Philip) Belmonte, Harry "Buzzy" (Cheryle) Harbour Jr., James (Wendy Andreades) Harbour, Steven Harbour, Laura (Chuck) Harbour-Kahl. Also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Lauren (Rich Teal) Harbour-Ford, Andrew Harbour-Ford M.D., Scott (Casey) Sacci, Taylor Belmonte (Adam Ornstein), John Belmonte (Amanda Rich), Harry E. Harbour III, Amanda Harbour. She is also survived by her lovely and precious great-grand children, Isabella Sacci, Sophia Sacci, Theodore Teal, Arrow Ornstein, and Jackson Belmonte. She is survived by her “special,” very caring and thoughtful, “baby” sister-in-law and who many thought was her other daughter, Margaret HarbourHolland.

Our gorgeous mother was a super star. She was fun loving, a talented performer, kind, generous and an expert card player. She had a tremendous sense of humor and made sure we learned how to laugh at an early age. Mom’s door was always open especially at her holiday table.
