GLENVILLE — Robert "Bob" Gardiner, 69, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2022, at Albany Medical Center with his family at his side.

Born in Schenectad­y, he was the son of the late Henry and Angeline (Scaccia) Gardiner. Bob was a graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School in 1970, and went on to attend Schenectad­y County Community College and received his master’s degree from SUNY Plattsburg­h. For the past nine years, Bob was a safety representa­tive for the New York State Canal Corporatio­n. He enjoyed collecting antiques, coaching and refereeing volleyball, reading, trips to Gettysburg, and history.

Bob married his beloved wife, Mary (Luskin) Gardiner, on November 14, 1992. Above all, he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen D’Allaird (Joseph) and Patricia Priest (Mark). Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Frederick Apfel III (Jennifer), Daniel Priest, Christophe­r Priest (Becky), Laura D’Allaird (Arnab), Michael D’Allaird, and Mary Catherine D’Allaird; his great-nieces, Marleigh Priest, Maggie Priest, Tara Mukherjee, and Arya Mukherjee; along with his beloved Kowalski and Scaccia cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by his sister, Judy DeBlaso.

Calling hours for Bob will be held on July 14, from 4 7 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 15, at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectad­y. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
