SELKIRK —Itiswith great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank E. Boehlke Jr., 80, on February 6, 2024. Frank was born on July 21, 1943, to the late Frank E. Boehlke, Sr. and Mabel (Clark) Boehlke.

Frank was a devoted family man who adored his family. Raised in the Hamlet of Selkirk, Frank was a 1962 graduate of R-C-S High School. He had the honor of serving the New York Army National Guard and the US Army. Frank had the pleasure of working as a mason alongside his father for many years in the family business. In August of 1968, Frank hired out with NY Central Railroad as a locomotive engineer. From there his career took him to Conrail, and finally to Amtrak where he retired from in July of 2004. Frank had the honor of being selected to operate many special trains throughout his career. Frank was very well respected amongst railroader­s. He was an avid golfer. One of his favorite pastimes was driving his ‘64 Plymouth, but only on sunny days.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judith; children, Frank (Tammy) Boehlke, Lisa (Timmy) Travis, Michelle (Richard) Benjamin, John (Beth) Boehlke and James Boehlke; devoted grandfathe­r to Samantha (Christian), Justin, Ryan (Carlie), Alysa, Brandon, Chelsea, Darren, Kyle, Tyler, Emily, Tanner and Taylor; as well as great-grandfathe­r to Anthony; three brothers, Darrell (Nancy) Boehlke, Tom (Doreen)Boehlke; and many nieces and nephews. To celebrate his life, funeral services for Frank will be held at The Church of St. Patrick, 21 Main St., Ravena, N.Y. at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024. A calling hour will be held at the church prior to the Mass starting at 9:30 a.m.
