Saints stage incredible rally to slip past Manhattan, 11-10

Siena rallied for four goals inside the final minute to pull out a comefrom-behind 11-10 win over visiting Manhattan on Saturday in a college men’s lacrosse clash in Loudonvill­e.

Caden Olmstead’s goal with just three seconds to go capped a remarkable rally and gave Siena an improbable victory over the rival Jaspers.

Trailing 10-7, Travis Fry scored with 47 seconds left and 34 seconds remaining to put the Saints within one. Patrick Radomski evened the game just 10 seconds later before Olmstead’s gamewinner.

Fry finished with three goals and two assists and Pratt Reynolds had three goals and an assist for Siena, which moved to 6-7 and 4-4 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. Olmstead also had three goals for the Saints.

Siena 7, Mount St. Mary’s 6: The Siena women’s team held a comfortabl­e 7-3 advantage heading into the final quarter, but Mount St. Mary’s scored three unanswered goals to fall one short. The Saints improved to 11-4 and 6-1 in the MAAC. Grace Dobrzynski

had two goals and an assist and Kelly Logue added two goals to lead Siena. Mackenzi Furlong had a goal and two assists for the Mountainee­rs, who dipped to 5-9 and 3-4.

UAlbany 14, NJIT 9:

The Great Danes’ men moved to 4-1 in the America East Conference with the road win. Amos Whitcomb snapped a 5-5 deadlock in the second quarter and UAlbany never looked back on the way to the victory. Silas Richmond, Graydon Hogg and Ryan Doherty each had three goals and an assist to lead UAlbany, which also improved to 5-6 overall. NJIT fell to 7-5 but 0-5 in league play.

UConn 15, UAlbany 10: Rayea Davis scored five goals and had an assist to help the Huskies pick up the nonconfere­nce victory in Albany. UConn trailed 3-2 at the end of the first quarter but took control in the second, outscoring the Great Danes 4-1. Eliza Bowman added four goals and Abby Charron chipped in with a goal and four assists for the Huskies, who are now 8-5. Katie Pascale and Mikaela Mooney each tallied two goals and an assist to lead UAlbany (4-9).
