Teenagers too young to cast Election Day ballots

-

I disagree with a recent commentary “Teens are ready to vote” by Ian Bickford, provost of Bard College. He stated, “We should allow 16- and-17-yearolds to vote.” Last I knew, teens were still in their adolescent years. They can still be influenced by negative peer pressure, extremely biased people and even influenced by radical extremists on either side of the political spectrum, etc.

I do like teens, but most of them have never even held a job yet. Some teens still have an entitlement mentality. I am not saying that some of them don’t have a valid opinion, but they are not yet in a position to vote. They need some years of life experience behind them.
