AVERILL PARK — Gary F. Allard, 78, of Burden Lake Road died suddenly on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Halifax Hospital Daytona Beach, Fla.

Born in Burlington, Vt., he was the son of the late Raymond A. Allard and Angelina Russo Allard; and was married to Patricia A. Gundrum Allard for 58 years. In the summer for the past 13 years he worked with his son, Gary, on construction jobs for Do-it-all Home Service. Gary was a person with a larger-than-life personality and he found enjoyment in everything he did. He role modeled the values of hard work and the love of family. He called his family members daily to chat... almost always during the dinner hour. He thrived on family gatherings, cruising, construction projects, buying special gifts for his wife who he loved beyond measure, and watching sports. He loved his John Deere tractor and new cars. He would strike up a conversation with anyone and in minutes you would feel like part of his family. Gary was a volunteer coach for his sons’ youth football, basketball and baseball teams and loved to attend his grandchildren’s games and school events too.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his sons, Gary (Tracy) Allard of Averill Park and Steven (Christine) Allard of Averill Park; his grandchildren, Kirstie (Justin) Bradway, Gregory T. Allard, Tyler Heritage, Jake Heritage, and Hope Heritage; his great-grandchildren, Trevor, Gavin and Savannah Bradway; his sister Sharon (David) Foust; several nieces and nephews; and his Yorkie, Jasper Jingles.
