Dwyer, Ruth E.

COLONIE — Ruth E. Dwyer, passed away peacefully at her home in her 98th year on October 28, 2018. She was born on October 25, 1920, in Albany, to the late William W. and Nellie (Zarachynski) Winnie. Ruth graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1938 and Mildred Elley. She went on to work for New York State Department of Tax and Finance until her retirement in 1980.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William R. Dwyer. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Brent) Histed; and grandchildren, William (Michaela Jenkins) Histed of Homosassa, Fla., Lynn (Scott) Brennan of Delmar, and Kent (Anna Amaro) Histed of Delmar. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ruth’s family wishes to thank Homedical Associates, Dr. Roberta Miller, Robyn Connolly and Tricia Brennan, plus Community Hospice, Nicola, Paula, Jeff and Alice for their loving and compassionate care. Special thanks to my mother’s aide and very special friend, Robaire Long, for her gentleness and loving care she gave to my mother.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on November 1, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
