No. 8 Texas (1-0) at Texas Tech (1-0), 3:30 p.m. (Fox23)

■ Line: Texas by 18

■ Series: Texas leads 52-17

■ What’s at stake: Texas needs a quick start in the Big 12 as the Longhorns chase their first league crown since 2009. Texas looked good in its season opener but can’t afford an early stumble on the road. Second-year Red Raiders coach Matt Wells needs a signature win. This could be one to jump-start his program.

■ No. 13 Central Florida (1-0, 0-0 American Athletic Conference) at East Carolina (0-0, 0-0), noon (ABC-10)

■ Line: UCF by 27

■ Series: ECU leads 10-8

■ What’s at stake: UCF is the preseason AAC favorite and is playing the second of two straight road games to open the season. The first was a lopsided win at Georgia Tech last weekend. Now the Knights open league play as the AAC’S highest-ranked team, though No. 14 Cincinnati lurks right behind them. As for the Pirates, it’s a delayed opener to their second season under Mike Houston. ECU was originally scheduled to host Marshall on Aug. 29, though that game was pushed to Sept. 12 — and then postponed again to a to-be-determined date after the Pirates had to pause football activities in August due to a coronavirus cluster.

■ No. 22 Army (2-0) at No. 14 Cincinnati (1-0), 3: 30 p.m. (ESPN)

■ Line:

Cincinnati by 13½

Series: What’s at stake:

Tied 3-3

■ The Bearcats get their first real test after a 55-20 opening victory over Austin Peay. Army hasn’t started 3-0 since 2016, when it won eight games in coach Jeff Monken’s third season. A win over a ranked team on the road would be the program’s first since 1958.

■ West Virginia (1-0) at No. 15 Oklahoma State (1-0), 3: 30 p.m. (ABC-10)

■ Line: Oklahoma State by 7

■ Series: Oklahoma State leads 7-4

■ What’s at stake: Oklahoma State entered the season with high hopes but nearly slipped in its opener against Tulsa and took a dive in the AP poll. The Cowboys can’t afford another shaky performance if they want to be viewed as elite. West Virginia was picked to finish eighth in the Big 12, so a road win against Oklahoma State would be significant for the program.

■ No. 16 Tennessee at South Carolina, 7: 30 p.m. (SEC Network)

■ Line: Tennessee by 3½

■ Series: Tennessee leads 26-10-2

■ What’s at stake: Tennessee fans have plenty of enthusiasm that third-year coach Jeremy Pruitt has the Vols pointed back in their championship direction. A victory at South Carolina, where Tennessee has lost its past two games, would back that up. The Gamecocks have lost five of their past six and are in need of a strong showing after making several offensive changes this offseason.
