Ballston schedules workshops as it prepares a vision
First mobile program today; another slated on Saturday morning
The town of Ballston says it’s inviting community members to participate in two mobile visioning workshops as part of a comprehensive plan update’s public engagement process. Workshops will be:
• 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Living Hope Christian Church at 978 Saratoga Road (Route 50), Ballston Lake
• 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Anchor Diamond Park at 1-17 Middleline Road, Ballston Lake
See the project website https://www.envisionballston.com for more information.
Workshops will be hosted in the parking lots at each location, offering an opportunity for socially distanced, in-person engagement. They will provide an overview of the comprehensive plan update process and gather input from the community about their vision for the town. Masks are required and social distancing protocols will be in place.
“Identifying a vision for the future of our Town is important. We need to hear feedback from all community members and since a more traditional public workshop is not possible at this time, these mobile workshops create a unique opportunity to have some level of in-person engagement in a safe way. We hope the public participates,” Supervisor Eric Connolly said in a press release.
Ballston started an update to its 2006 Comprehensive Plan to reflect “the needs of today and identify a vision for the future.” The update will create a framework for the future of the town for areas such as land use, economic development, infrastructure, transportation, neighborhoods, agriculture, the environment and housing, among other topics.
The project is being led by the Town Board and facilitated by M.J. Engineering and Land Surveying, P.C. of Clifton Park.
