Proctors, affiliates throwing first virtual gala on Nov. 18
Tickets for event start at $100 each
Three organizations under the Proctors Collaborative umbrella — Proctors in Schenectady, Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany and Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs — will present their first virtual gala at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 18.
Broadcast live to ticketholders, it will feature musical performances, a sneak peek at the The Rep’s under-construction new home and messages from each venue’s leadership. Spectrum News reporter Tamani Wooley will emcee.
Scheduled performances will be by the Brubeck Brothers jazz ensemble, actor-singer Barbara Howard with arranger-musician Josh Smith and current and former students of the Proctors Collaborative School of the Performing Arts. Segments featuring Proctors CEO Philip Morris, The Rep Producing Artistic Director Maggie Mancinelli-cahill and UPH Director Teddy Foster will be broadcast from each venue.
Tickets, starting at $100 each, include a link to the live stream and gift bag with bottle of wine, delivered in advance.
“Each ticket supports Proctors, The Rep and UPH, ensuring that our virtual programming and community outreach activities expand, our buildings are safeguarded and planning continues towards the eventual return to live programming on our three stages,” Morris said in a statement. “One thing is certain: We and the community agree that the show must go on!’”
