Great leaders respect the Constitution
America is great thanks to great leaders that have led us through difficult times. The ultimate example is George Washington who sacrificed everything to help create the greatest country in the world. As our first president, he refused to take a third term because he did not want the United States of America to become a monarchy like the one he fought so hard to overthrow. The two-term limit remained a tradition until it was written into law in the 22nd amendment to the Constitution in 1951.
Today, we are faced with difficult times and we have a president who says he will not leave office if he loses the election and that he is entitled to a third term. This is from a man who swore on a Bible that he: “will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." More than 20,000 lies in less than four years and still counting. Contrast this to a great leader who could not tell a lie.
