COLONIE — Christopher M. Hendrick, 56 of Colonie, died peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the cherished son of Robert and Carol Hendrick of Colonie. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda Lubowski Hendrick; and his two sons, Corey Thomas Hendrick and Jason Christopher Hendrick. He was the brother of Seth (Ann) Hendrick, Stephen (Rachelle) Hendrick, Dean (Stephanie) Hendrick and Christina (Brendan) Lyons and the late Mark Hendrick. Chris is also survived by the Lubowski family and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Chris was a 1982 graduate of Colonie High School where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He worked as an assistant manager for Hannaford Markets in several of their stores, most recently in Troy. Chris was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved to fly fish for trout and enjoyed time at his camp on Schroon River in the Adirondacks. He also spent many summer vacations with his family in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Chris will be remembered as a kind loyal and steadfast friend to many people whose lives he touched so profoundly. He was the kind of friend who you would trust with your life, but more importantly with the lives of your family.

He was asked recently what gave him the will to fight this affliction. He replied, "Family, friends and faith." We are all put on this Earth to strive to be the best that God intended. Christopher strove mightily... and succeeded!
