RENSSELAER — Carolyn L. Mccarthy, 73 of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Our Lady of Mercy.

Carolyn was born June 22, 1947, in Albany, the daughter of the late Leroy and Dorothy E. (Mcgowan) Johnson.

She was a call center representative for N.Y.S. DMV for 52 years before retiring in 2011.

Predeceased by her husband, Thomas Mccarthy; sister, Dorothy Zdunczyk; and a nephew, David Johnson.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristina "Tina" (Joseph Schultz) Mccarthy; and siblings, James (Myra) Johnson, Gail (Sam) Parker, Lee (Donna) Johnson, and Robert (Debbie) Johnson. She was the devoted Nana of Katie Schultz; proud Aunt of Jackie (Chris) Sousa, Megan and Jillian Sousa, Candise (Jamie) Durivage and Amanda and Jonathan Durivage, Russell, Mark (Janelle), Neala, Kristy (Justin) Riccio, Natalie, Charlie, Ruby, Sara (Jason) Guzman, Annabelle, Avery, and Aiden, Patricia Zdunczyk, Taylor (Steve) Hicks, Marleigh, Waylon Hicks, Jarrid Rogers, Cheryl (Don) Haeffle, Emily, Jesse Haeffle, Jenny, and Heidi Johnson, Julie (Aaron) Griggs and Steven Zdunczyk.

Friends and family are invited to her calling hours Friday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpk in Rensselaer. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral fome. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Covid protocols will be followed and masks are mandatory.
