COLONIE — John Anthony Rochminski, 90 of Colonie, passed away January 2, 2021, after a short illness. We grieve our loss, but celebrate a life well lived.

Jack (Dad, Papa, Rock) was born November 30, 1930, in Albany, he was raised in South Troy. Reading his baby book we discovered at four years old he swallowed a penny and found it three days later. He dislocated his elbow falling off the roof of a car, telling his mother he tripped on a shoestring. In 1941, he broke his left elbow falling out of a tree. He graduated from Lasalle Institute in 1949, then served in the U.S. Navy from 19501954. He happily recalled his service time, playing on the Deslant Baseball Team of Camp Lejeune, N.C. His favorite memory was playing against future hall of famer Willie Mays and hearing the crowd shout "Show ’em Mr. Mays, Show ’em Mr. Mays," when Willie stole third base and then home. He graduated HVCC in 1956 and continued playing baseball in the Albany Twilight League.

In 1955 he married Margaret "Peggy" Duncan, living 62 years of true love. They raised three sons, once free they traveled the world and cruised with friends. They cross country skied, biked, hiked and attended most if not all their grandchildrens sporting events. Dad loved golfing and bowl
