Trump needs to be removed from office now

Like all Americans, I am filled with sadness for our country. It is obvious President Donald Trump incited the riot. We can expect Trump to up the insurrection ante between today and Jan. 20. His delusions have only cemented his irrational beliefs and support his uncontrolled destructive behavior.

Trump found nothing wrong with the actions of his extreme followers as they vandalized the Capitol. He commiserated with them because they were unable to complete the coup he was attempting. If this does not cause our elected representatives to quickly address the need to remove this man from office, I fear for us all.

There is one more reality I ask all senators and House representatives to emblazon in their hearts, minds and souls: Trump set this violent mob in motion without any regard for the safety of any member of Congress. He showed a complete disregard for Congress’ safety.

If any member of Congress had died at the hands of the Trump terrorists, he would not care. As he has demonstrated again and again, he only cares about himself. He does not care about any other political leaders, any of the citizens of our country and certainly not the rule of law.

This is not a time for partisanship, cowardice or fear of this crazy man. We need our leaders to protect our country, protect our citizens, protect our families, protect themselves, and remove Trump from office now.
