Pence must invoke the 25th Amendment

-

I cannot understand why Vice President Mike Pence does not agree to invoke the 25th Amendment on President Donald Trump. It is inconceivable that Pence could suffer through the ordeals of Jan. 6 along with his fellow congressmen and still be loyal to his “boss.”

He has a chance to protect America from this caged tiger by supporting calls for the 25th Amendment. Instead, he is delusional that he can protect us from this insane human being just as the Republicans did during the past four years. How can he? They aren’t even talking. The Republicans didn’t control him, did they?

Trump was able to cause more harm to America than any president — ever. I fear what is ahead during the next days leading to the inauguration. This deranged human being isn’t done yet.

There is speculation that he will give himself and his family pardons. This cannot happen. There must be some safeguards against a sitting president being his own judge and jury. This is not what our forefathers intended. He already pardoned his fellow conspirators complicit in trashing America; is he able to pardon those responsible for the recent insurrection that he instigated?

Are political leaders afraid to rile Trump’s cultists who could decide their political futures? I implore Pence to reconsider and agree to invoke the 25th Amendment. We need him to protect America and all that he once valued.
