Plass, Marta J. (Goldberg)

GLENMONT — Marta J. (Goldberg) Plass, 62 of Glenmont, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021. She was born in Albany on June 23, 1958, to the late Harry and Lois (Blanchard) Goldberg. Marta was the devoted and loving wife to the late Albert F. Plass; they were married for 35 years. She was the loving mother of Julia Baskerville (Robert Baskerville) of Albany, Daphne Plass Jenkins of Glenmont and the late Adam Plass; cherished grandmother of Corey Chiaro, Allie Baskerville, Kenyon Baskerville and Harrison Adam Jenkins; and dearest sister of Laura Kurowski, Gary Goldberg, Jeff Goldberg, Alan Goldberg, and Daniel Goldberg. Marta was an Albany High School graduate - class of 1976. She received her associate degree from Schenectady County Community College. On August 21, 1982, she married the love of her life, Albert. Marta was a special ed pre-school teacher at Kenwood Child Development Center for many years. She then went to work as a pre-school teacher at the Albany Jewish Community Center for several years. Marta’s family was her life and she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

The funeral service will commence at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 22, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home. The service will also be available via Youtube: https: //youtu.be/qkhodkgldjo. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current N.Y.S. occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
