Bills agree to sign Allen’s teammate
Tight end Hollister played with Buffalo QB at Wyoming in college
The Buffalo Bills agreed to sign tight end Jacob Hollister to a one-year contract on Friday.
Hollister is a fourth-year NFL player, who spent the past two seasons in Seattle. In Buffalo, he is reunited with quarterback Josh Allen after the two played together at Wyoming.
The 27-year-old combined for 66 catches for 558 yards and six touchdowns in 27 games over his past two seasons in Seattle. He broke into the NFL in 2017 as a rookie free agent with New England, where he was used in a limited role over two years.
Hollister has an opportunity to fill an unsettled spot in Buffalo after the Bills elected against re-signing Tyler Kroft and traded Lee Smith to Atlanta.
Giants: New York added a veteran at inside linebacker by reaching agreement with Reggie Ragland on a oneyear, $1.1 million contract.
Jets: New York and former Buffalo tight end Tyler Kroft agreed to terms on a one-year contract, agent Mike Mccartney announced on Twitter on Friday night. The 28-year-old Kroft joins a tight ends group that includes Chris Herndon, Ryan Griffin and Connor Davis. New York also made the signings of former Jaguars wide receiver Keelan Cole and former Chargers offensive lineman Dan Feeney to oneyear deals official.
Patriots: David Andrews says he’s staying in New England. The Patriots’ free agent center confirmed via social media that he is returning to the only NFL team he’s played for, finalizing what the NFL Network reports is a four-year deal. The Patriots announced the signings of 13 other free agents Friday: tight ends Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith; receivers Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne; linebackers Matt Judon, Kyle Van Noy and Raekwon Mcmillan; offensive lineman Ted Karras; defensive linemen Henry Anderson, Deatrich Wise Jr. and Montravius Adams; and defensive backs Jalen Mills and Cody Davis.
Broncos: Justin Simmons became the highest-paid safety in the NFL when he agreed to a four-year, $61 million contract with Denver, which had franchised him for a second consecutive season.
Steelers: Wide receiver Juju Smithschuster surprisingly opted to return to the Steelers just days after strongly hinting that his departure on the open market was imminent.
Vikings: Minnesota will forfeit its seventh-round selection in the draft this year for a collective bargaining agreement salary cap violation, the NFL confirmed.
Note: Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson has been sued by four more women who accuse him of sexual assault and harassment. The lawsuits were filed Thursday night, hours after the NFL said it was investigating earlier allegations by three massage therapists who said the quarterback sexually assaulted them during massages. The claims in the four new suits, which were filed in a Harris County state district court, mirror those in the three earlier cases.
