TROY — A 23-year-old city woman was arraigned on manslaughter charges in Rensselaer County Court on Tuesday for allegedly causing the death of a Lansingburgh man in an April 2020 accident in Brunswick, the district attorney’s office said.

A sealed indictment was opened by Judge Jennifer Sober charging Angela N. Lombard with felony counts of seconddegree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter, seconddegree vehicular assault, and a misdemeanor count of driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Lombard is accused of colliding with a vehicle driven by John A. Flood Sr., 78, at 3:25 p.m. April 14, 2020 at the intersection of Park Road and North Lake Avenue in Brunswick, according to the district attorney’s office.

“Flood suffered serious injuries from the crash, ultimately causing his death,” said Assistant District Attorney Nicholas Dorando, who presented the case to the grand jury.

Hospital warns of phone scam

GLENS FALLS — Glens Falls Hospital officials are warning that a scam is going around in which patients of its medical centers are getting calls from people claiming to be calling on behalf of their physician.

The callers are asking for private Medicare information, and in some cases other financial information.

“If you are suspicious of a caller who says they are calling from Glens Falls Hospital, or from your physician’s office, ask them for a telephone number where you can call them back. Then call your physician’s office directly,” the hospital says in an advisory released Tuesday.
