Rzeszotars­ki, Isaksen lead in Lady Spartans’ sweep of Guilderlan­d

The Burnt Hills girls’ volleyball team kept its perfect record intact with a three-game sweep over Guilderlan­d on Wednesday in a Suburban Council matchup.

The Lady Spartans improved to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in league play with the win. Burnt Hills won by scores of 25-10, 25-4 and 25-8. Carlie Rzeszotars­ki had 14 kills, six aces and three blocks and teammate Claire Isaksen chipped in with 28 assists and seven kills to lead the Lady Spartans’ effort.

More girls’ volleyball: Tamarac also climbed to 8-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Stillwater in a Wasaren League clash. Tamarac won by scores of 25-5, 26-24 and 25-17. Jordyn Sorel had six aces and a kill, Catrina Murphy added five kills and two aces and Lily Rodda had one kill and five aces to lead the Bengals . ... Niskayuna defeated Troy, 25-11, 25-11 and 25-23 in another Suburban match. Cat Schiavi had 11 kills, nine digs and an ace and Jesse Levine added three kills and nine digs for the Silver Warriors, who moved to 7-1 on the season.

Girls’ soccer: Scotia raced out to a 3-0 halftime advantage and cruised to a 5-0 victory over Broadalbin-perth in a Foothills Council contest. Brooklyn Drago had three goals and an assist and Lucy Crounse and Lily Dempsey both had a goal apiece to lead the Tartans.

Boys’ soccer: Tamarac put up five goals in the game’s first 20 minutes to roll past host Hoosick Falls, 6-3, in a Wasaren League game. Ethan Brown scored two goals to lead the Bengals offense . ... Berlin-new Lebanon’s Kasey Billert completed the hat-trick with a game-tying goal in the final minutes of a 3-3 tie against Waterford. Josh Catanzarit­a scored two goals to lead Waterford.
