Ballerstein, Nancy J.

LITTLE FALLS — Nancy J. Ballerstein, 66, entered into eternal life on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Albany Medical Center.

Nancy was the daughter of the late Boyd and Bernise Babcock Foster. Raised and educated in Friendship, N.Y., she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She settled in the Utica area where she has resided for most of her life. Most recently, she worked as a school nurse for the Fonda Fultonville School District and the Thea Bowman House Daycare in Utica. She had also been employed as the secretary at the Christ Lutheran Church in Little Falls for many years.

In her spare time, Nancy was an avid and gifted quilter. She also loved to read and spend time in her garden.

Nancy is survived by her loving children: Amy Ballerstein, David Ballerstein (Genevieve) and Molly Ballerstein (Alex Payne); by her siblings, Lori Unfus and Kirk Foster; by her grandchildren, Killian and Amelia Ballerstein and Grayson Payne; and by her nephews, Kyle and Chris.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Relatives and friends may visit prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. Masks will be required and occupancy regulations observed.
