Mccart has hat trick

Emma Mccart scored all three goals, including the overtime game-winner, for Hoosick Falls in a 3-2 victory over host Corinth on Wednesday in an Adirondack/wasaren League field hockey clash.

Mccart scored twice in the first quarter to help the Panthers grab a 2-1 lead, but Olivia Mann tied the game with a goal for Corinth in the second quarter. The game remained deadlocked until Mccart scored with 8 minutes, 45 seconds to go in overtime to give Hoosick Falls the win. The Panthers climbed to 8-1 overall and are a perfect 5-0 in league play.

More girls’ soccer: Queensbury nipped Schuylervi­lle, 2-1, in a Foothills Council contest. Christina Cummings and Bayley Duffey had goals for the Spartans, who improved to 6-0 with the win. Queensbury will take on rival South Glens Falls on Saturday, 10 a.m., in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Boys’ soccer: Harry Haworth scored three goals and had an assist to help Albany Academy coast past visiting Cobleskill, 5-0, in a Colonial Council game. Jackson Foley-stevenson added a goal and an assist for the Cadets.

Girls’ volleyball: Schalmont swept Cohoes, 3-0, in a Colonial Council matchup. Alexa Knapik had 12 assists and Mya Cordy had two digs, five kills and two aces for the Sabres, who won by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-12 to claim the victory . ... Galway climbed to 7-0 in the Western Athletic Conference with a 3-0 win over Mayfield. The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-10, 25-19 and 25-18 and moved to 9-3 overall. Julia Reedy had 14 kills, three aces and 11 digs to lead Galway.

Boys’ golf: Mechanicvi­lle improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-2 victory over Cambridge in a Wasaren League match. Anthony Fiacco had a 43 to lead the Red Raiders.
