Support for Zeldin's gubernatorial campaign

-

As we watch political decisions being made for personal gains and on reactive influences, we must realize it is time to elect officials who are not deceptive and who have the well-being of citizens as their priority. This is why I was happy to hear Congressman Lee Zeldin, a young, new-generation leader, announce that he will seek the Republican nomination for governor of New York state.

Many people from upstate New York are not familiar with Zeldin since he represents Congressional District 1 in Suffolk County, eastern Long Island. However, New Yorkers have had enough, and it’s not just upstate Republican New Yorkers, it’s Republicans, Democrats and everyone in between.

For far too long, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has intimidated and bullied people into remaining silent but no longer. Zeldin is the person we need to lead this state.

Unlike Cuomo, Zeldin will bring a much-needed fresh perspective to governing the state. Whether it was in the military, the state Legislature or now in Congress, Zeldin has always delivered.

Zeldin is everything that our governor is not. He is a man of character, a family man and a nice guy. He is a soldier, veteran and defender of New York’s first responders. Zeldin also is a former prosecutor and reformer. He wants to make New York more affordable by lowering taxes, not increasing them. He is young and represents a new generation of leadership. He is the person who will turn this state around. Christine Benedict
